A new partnership has been launched between Turkish Aerospace Industries TUSAŞ and KAREL, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding at the 17th IDEF International Defence Industry Fair, held in Istanbul from July 22–27. This collaboration aims to advance the modernization of fixed-wing aircraft.
The memorandum formalizes both companies’ intent to work together on the development of the Backup Flight Indicator (BFI) produced by KAREL.
TUSAŞ and KAREL had previously collaborated on the development of BFI equipment for rotary-wing aircraft. With this new step, they are now working to adapt and integrate BFI hardware into fixed-wing platforms. The agreement also aims to expand joint efforts in hardware and software development, system integration, testing, and verification.
This initiative seeks to replicate the success achieved in rotary-wing aircraft for fixed-wing platforms as well.
