Public Switching Systems and Solutions
DS200 is the public switching exchange of Karel Electronics Corporation that provides not only modular and reliable but also flexible, cost effective and future proof solutions.
The public switching concept; devised by Karel; offers comprehensive solutions to a multitude of requirements arising in connection with supplying sparsely populated areas with a telecommunications infrastructure. The concept provides not only for the aspect of perfect and cheap communication but also for special solutions.
Comprehensive concepts are required, as well as technology flexible enough to adapt to the requirements by tailor-made solutions. Allowing expansion and fulfillment of all demands at all times and under adapting country to modern and entirely digitalized conditions, Karel has developed a concept which enables the size of an exchange to be dimensioned economically to meet local demand as well as allowing effortless adaptation to increasing number and traffic.

Trunk Interfaces- Connection to all possible nodes in a network with following trunk interfaces:
- Ethernet: TCP/IP
- SS7: ITU-T No.7 compatible
- ISDN-PRI: Euro-ISDN compatible
- R2: MF compatible, DC loop and pulse signaling
- CAS 1B: 2 wire or 4 wire
- CAS 2B: Polar code
- CAS 3B: CAS mode DP, MFR1
- MF Shuttle: 30 ch. MFR1 transmission
- 1 VF: 30 ch. PCM transmission, 4 wire (2600 Hz.)
- Capable of bridging all trunk interfaces in a single system.
- No additional equipments (PCM, converter, etc.) are required for trunk connections. Provides connection of analog trunks to digital network without using PCM transmission equipments.
- Modular architecture for wide range of networking possibilities.
- SS7 module supports SSP (Service Switching Point) and STP (Signal Transfer Point) applications.
